CLASSICS AT THE FESTIVAL CONDUCTED BY MAESTRO CHI-YONG CHUNG FEATURING PIANIST JAE-HYUCK CHO Since its establishment in 1985, the Korean Symphony Orchestra has been busy elevating Korean symphonic music at home and abroad, and is the only house orchestra in Korea to possess the know-how and experience to stage professional opera house performances such as ballet and opera. For this mesmerising concert, the baton will be wielded by one of the most sought-after conductors of his generation in Korea: Chi-Yong Chung, highly regarded for his vivid interpretations, deep musical insights, strong ensemble leadership and virtuoso baton technique. Also performing will be acclaimed soloist, Jae-Hyuck Cho, who has been described as “a pianist who is nearing perfection with extraordinary breadth of expression, flawless technique and composition.” This highly anticipated concert will feature three works: Young Jo Lee’s Arirang Festival for Orchestra, Franz List’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E-flat Major, S.124 and Antonín Dvorák’s Symphony No.8, Op.88.
